Tanbin Islam Siyam is a Bangladeshi computer programmer and Wikimedian. Since 2024, he has been serving as an executive committee member of Wikimedia Bangladesh. In 2025, he was nominated for the Ekushey Padak alongside Mehdi Hasan Khan, Rifat Nabi, and Shabab Mustafa for their contributions to the Avro Keyboard.

Early Life

Siyam studied at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology.[1]

Career

Siyam primarily works as a back-end engineer on the Symphony platform.[2] In 2018, he developed new fonts for textbooks at the primary and secondary levels for the Government of Bangladesh.[3]

Siyam's created Siyam Rupali font

After the first version of Avro Keyboard was released in 2003, he joined OmicronLab as a volunteer to help develop Avro Keyboard.[4] In 2007, he released a Unicode version of the Rupali font developed by Solaiman Karim, naming it Siyam Rupali. Later, in 2010, he created and released the Kalpurush font.[5]

In 2024, he was elected as an executive committee member of Wikimedia Bangladesh.[6]

Honors

In 2025, he was nominated for the Ekushey Padak along with Mehdi Hasan Khan, Rifat Nabi, and Shabab Mustafa for their contributions to Avro Keyboard.[7]
