The Meril Prothom Alo Awards are one of the most prestigious entertainment awards in Bangladesh, established in 1998 by the Prothom Alo newspaper and Square Group.[1] The awards recognize excellence in film, television, music, and modeling.[2]

In 2024, the awards celebrated their 25th anniversary, marking the silver jubilee.[3] The ceremony was held at The Grace Auditorium of United Convention Center in Dhaka, a new venue for the event.[4] Popular host Hanif Sanket returned to the stage after two decades to present the awards.[5]

The event featured performances by prominent stars and recognized distinguished individuals for their contributions.[6] The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to renowned musician Syed Abdul Hadi.[7]

The awards play a significant role in elevating the standards of the entertainment industry in Bangladesh.[8]
